On April 11, 1924, after much publicity in the German paper, there gathered together in the Hall of the Glee Club Eintracht, a number of young immigrants who had left Germany in 1923. Companionship and good sport of various kinds was their objective. To further this, an already existing German soccer team joined them on May 7, 1924. They decided to call the club Edelweiss, and their colors were to be blue and white. The Edelweiss is a flower that grows in high altitudes of the German Alps and can only be reached under most strenuous and untiring efforts.
Mark your calendar to start off the Christmas season at our Christmas Dance on December 2. As of now, there is no dinner planned, but sandwiches and desserts will be available. The information is on the Event Flyers page - check it out and plan to be there for another fun evening with Frank Svet and camaraderie!
There will be no New Year's Eve celebration at Edelweiss on Sunday, the 31st, however we will celebrate the new year at a later, yet undetermined, date.
